Trousers..
Capris.. Shrugs.. Shawls.. Tops.. kaftans.. and so much more! Ahh.. This IS a
heaven!
I have come to do
shopping… nothing unusual for me except that this time I’m not staring at the
pictures… reading the description of these items (with the window playing hide
and seek as soon as someone approaches my cubicle).. and occasionally zooming
In on the models wearing them (Ok I admit it… sometimes its just to look at the
models instead of the item on sale). I don’t have any “Add to my cart” option
here… neither can I “filter” the available items based on the brand… or price
but the most important one I’m gonna miss is the rating and comments by the
previous users of the product!
Ok .. now I’m
left with the complete stores to look for something.. (which I’m not sure of..
yet).. with a husband who tries to pose as interested but I can only be
sympathetic towards him (but not too much since he deserves it for arguing with
me about regular shopping being way too “exciting” than the online one)
I read it
somewhere once…“Shopping is a woman thing. It's a contact sport like football.
Women enjoy the scrimmage, the noisy crowds, the danger of being trampled to
death, and the ecstasy of the purchase.”
Enjoying the
ecstasy of the purchases.. We have an alternate for the others now… we avoid
the noisy crowds only to be engrossed in our own thoughts when browsing through
heaps of pages.. with loads of products!
We have nullified
the chances of being trampled to death.. but we still have chances of a heart
attack every time a sale is announced :p
We have a value
addition here.. Instead of your legs and hands both paining because of roaming
around the shops.. Only your fingers start killing you! :p
Anyway.. I have
one girl to assist me with the shopping.. and she’s not particularly happy
about it (no hard feelings though! Maybe I would have shoved anyone asking me
to help them shop without getting me anything except for salary)
Now I’m trying on
things I’ve selected... And it’s a cumbersome business! I hate it! Specifically
coz of the trial rooms.
I usually don’t
go for trials.. until one day when I shopped for more than 2 hours only to find
my bags filled with jeans that never fit.. Tops into which i couldn’t squeeze
my tiny li’l head and shoes that hung way further than my heels!
I come out of the
trial rom.. and signal my husband that it’s done. I can see that he has
finished more than 30 % of his cell phone battery (I might have taken up
considerable time).. We go towards the counter to pay the bill and my cell
phone lets out a screech. It’s a message.. From one of the online shopping
websites! Up to 50% off!
Hurry! Offer valid only till tomorrow!
All my favorite
brands! Many more options! Delivery in 1 day!
I look all around
me.. people are waiting for me to checkout.. specially the gal who was
assisting.. my husband gives me a whats-in-that-message look… I give a sheepish
smile.. hand over the bags to one of the helpers and make my way out of the
showroom (feeling sorry for the girl but right now.. I don’t have much time!
Need to login to the shopping website soon!)
