Marriage on cards?

I'm on phone with a friend who is rather special. She is stay-for-entire-wedding kind of special! (Now that line should get most of you gasp for air if you know how a typical south Indian wedding is!)

We are talking about her love life (she doesn't have one yet.. but I would love it if she does! Think about all the time we can spend on double dates!) I'm just excited by the thought that 2017 might be an year of weddings!

I have an acquaintance looking for a girl who wouldn't (read shouldn't) wear non-Indian dresses.  Now that I think of it, 2017 might not really be the ideal year to look for a girl! 1940's could be something to consider (if any of you reading this has a time traveller.. we have a huge demand coming through)

I do have my school friend who has a boyfriend (Actual one) studying abroad, another in her college (for regular rides to beauty Parlor, chaat centre etc etc) and one in her family (otherwise who can survive the long Indian weddings! Right?)

My college friend is stuck getting a doctorate in Michigan. He has been a hard core romantic (the desi types) and he just confessed on having crush on a girl during college days while she's married now with a kid or two! So take it from me.. he's the guy with references!

Back to our conversation, I can hear her referring to my man (I do get interested.. more than the thoughts of multiple boyfriends and greener pasteurs). "Everyone is not as lucky as you!" She says followed by a list of "good" things my husband possesses including 'patience' , 'soft spoken' and 'decent'. I hate to agree with her.

Can see my husband on another line. With the devil inside me working it's general shift,  I ask her " so tell me about the wedding you attended last week"

"Qualities need to be vetted from time to time" says the inner voice and I smirk with the list fresh in my head.
